What is Colon Hydrotherapy?
A Colon Hydrotherapy is a holistic procedure that involves the use of warm water to gently cleanse the colon to
remove accumulated waste.

Is it Painful?
NO. The procedure can be very relaxing and calming. Some clients entertain themselves on their phone, while some
may feel some cramping in the stomach and occasionally clients feel slightly nauseous, whenever toxic waste
detaches. The water is warm; it complements the body’s temperature. Most people feel is the natural urge to have
a bowel movement.

Is Colon Hydrotherapy Safe?
Absolutely. Colon hydrotherapy is very safe. Each client receives their own disposable speculum for disposal,
after each use. The water goes through an advanced filtration process prior to entering the colon. The client’s
dignity is maintained by the use of a clean and private room with proper draping.

A session is 45, 60, or 70 minutes in length. Some even schedule treatments while on their lunch break.
Preparation is key. Come in with your paperwork completely filled; you can be out of the center within one hour.
You can continue with your regular activities after the cleansing.

How many sessions do I need?
Every person is different, so there is no standard number of sessions that are recommended. It depends on your
toxicity level and your goal. Some may need a series of 2 to 3 sessions, while some may need more. In our
experience, we have found that a course of 3 sessions over an initial 2-3 week timeframe produces the best
results with regular maintenance thereafter. We suggest you book a single treatment initially and discuss with
our certified therapist during the consultation on what their recommendations are based on your specific need.

After a colonic, will I need to be close to a toilet all day?
No, usually clients release everything while they are in our office as there is time to finish on the toilet
before you leave. Of course, there can be exceptions to this, but most clients continue on with their scheduled
day without urgency to eliminate.

Can I go to work directly after a colonic?
Yes, you can work as you would just after a regular bowel movement. Many clients receive a colonic on their
lunch break and head right back to work afterward.

Is it okay to have a session during menstrual period?
Yes. It is a good time to have the colonic since the body is already cleansing. Your flow will not interfere
with the session. However, it is advisable to wear a Tampon.

Is there any possibility of contamination from prior use of the Colon Hydrotherapy equipment?
No. Modern equipment utilizes pre-sterilized disposable hoses and speculum. One time use and disposed of
thereafter.

Should I see My Doctor before my session?
If you have a concern about your health and Colon, you should consult with your Medical Doctor. If you are
diagnosed with Diverticulitis, Ulcerative Colitis, Crohn’s Disease, Severe Hemorrhoids, Rectal or intestinal
tumors, you would not be a candidate for colonic hydrotherapy.

How should I prepare for the Colonic?
Drink plenty of water the day before and refrain from eating 3 hours before the cleanse. The water will help to
hydrate the Colon for better elimination. If possible, and you so desire, a diet of vegetables and grains 2-3
days in advance rather than heavy foods will help prepare your colon.

Are Colonics habits forming?
No. The Colonic is a holistic and natural approach, intended to create a clean, well-functioning colon. The
Colonic Hydrotherapy exercises and tones the colon, resulting in better colon function and elimination. The
gentle filling of water repeatedly not only flushes waste out of the colon but also stimulates the colon to
contract, strengthening the muscles of the colon.

Can I have Colonic while I am pregnant?
No. At Abundant Living Wellness Center, we will not administer a colonic to someone during pregnancy.

Will colonic clear up my skin?
Your skin is an important organ of elimination. Sometimes, if the colon, liver, or kidneys are functioning
poorly, the skin will be required to make up the difference. Surface eruptions on the skin may occur due to
toxins being released. Cleansing the colon can diminish the burden placed upon the skin as well as the other
organs of elimination: Lungs, liver, kidneys. After receiving colon hydrotherapy people often report that their
skin cleared up.

Will one colonic clean out all of the waste material in my colon? How often should I receive
colonics?
Having one colonic is the first step towards renewed vitality and abundant living, however, some of the waste
can be so hard and deeply lodged in the colon that it usually takes a series of colonics to sufficiently soften
and loosen it. If you have never had a colonic, or it has been a long time since you last had one, you may
consider doing a series of colonics. The number and frequency of colonic sessions will vary with each individual
and will depend on your goals, dietary habits, intestinal health, and lifestyle choices. After the initial
series, many people choose to schedule colonics as part of an ongoing maintenance program to keep the colon
flushed and the body free from an overabundance of toxins. Your certified colon hydrotherapist will go over your
goals with you to help you determine what is best for you.

How will I feel after the Session?
Colonics have a “relieving” effect, with a sense of better wellbeing. You feel cleansed from inside out, very
light and lots of energy. Many clients have reported clearer skin. Once the colon has been thoroughly cleansed
then diet, exercise, and other health programs will become many times more effective. Continue to drink plenty
of water. Reduce consumption of meats for a couple of days. Steamed vegetables, fruit, and soups are
recommended.

It’s common knowledge that a foundation of life is adequate blood flow throughout the body. However, beyond a
normal heart rate, blood pressure reading, and cholesterol test, most of us never give our circulatory systems a
second thought.
Even though blood flow may not be thought-provoking if it is functioning normally, reduced or impaired blood
flow will almost immediately trigger alarms in the cells that have been denied their source of oxygen and
nutrients, and eventually the tissues and organs that house those cells will function abnormally. Improper blood
